Goose Alley Urban Farm

The Goose Alley Community Garden — developed through a partnership among Cornerstone Renter Equity, Preservation of Affordable Housing (POAH), and Urban Farming Collective Food System (UFC) — provides space for growing fresh fruits, vegetables, and herbs.

The garden and bodega combo represents a direct way for residents to access fresh produce, herbs, berries, and other garden-grown food — without needing a long trip to a supermarket.

The initiative also aims to provide educational and engagement opportunities: as reported, residents involved in the garden can learn gardening skills, build community, and benefit from access to healthier food.

The project is intended not just to supply food, but to build a community‑driven system: residents help maintain the garden, can participate in a “Teach the Grower” program, and have a say in what gets sold at the bodega.
